Lions cricket set to smash the CSA One Day Cup final with festive fun

Right from the first ball bowled at the DP World Wanderers in this One Day Cup competition Lions Cricket has been fan-focused: Giving every single fan a memorable and unmatched experience. True to “The Lions Way” Lions Cricket is set to ensure that the 2022/23 final between the DP World Lions and Six Gun Grill WP is bigger, better and the best yet. We are wetting the Pride’s appetite with the promise of face-painters; jumping castles; DJ Garth and DJ Zinhle; competitions; Morgan Beat Box; the Jozi brass band and so much more.
Putting their money where their mouth is this One Day Cup campaign, the off-field performances were matched in the middle, with table toppers DP World Lions claiming 5 from 5 and securing a home final – all with two round robin matches still in hand.
Having won 6 of their total 7 games, log-leaders Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright says that his marketing and events team have been working equally as smart, ensuring that the off-pitch experience equates to that of inside the ropes.
“Our DP World Lions team have certainly delivered with bat and ball so now is the time for us to rally our pride members and show the team our appreciation and admiration for the quality performances to date. Our events and marketing team have gone the extra mile in order to ensure that every fan’s experience is an epic one, hosted at the one and only DP World Wanderers Stadium. So, purchase your tickets for the Final, bring family and friends because I assure you we have something for everyone.”
With adults in at R50 and scholars (u18) at R25, there really can only be one place to be, come Final Day on Thursday 29 December.
“We have more food choices, more music, more giveaways, more action. Actually: We have ‘much more’ of everything. Our fans mean the world to us and having made it a home final during the festive season, what a better time to have a great family day out?” smiles Leaf-Wright.
So come join the action by purchasing your tickets via or at the stadium ticket office. South Africa’s most iconic cricket stadium warmly welcomes all from far and wide come 29 December 2022 at 13h00 for the Final matchup between the DP World Lions and Six Gun Grill WP. Come join in for one final time in 2022 – for a carnival of cricket this summer.
